Arte Povera

Italian art critic and curator Germano Celant coined the term Arte Povera for his renowned 1967 exhibition in Genoa.
The expression emerged from the radical stance adopted by artists in response to their growing dissatisfaction with the values upheld by the political, industrial, and cultural institutions of the time.

Marisa Merz, Giuseppe Penone, Luciano Fabro, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Fabio Sargentini, and Pino Pascali appear before our eyes, revealing—through the immediacy of moving images—the places where they lived, alongside the ideas, stimuli, and multiple connections that shaped their artistic practices.
